Terms of Service

VerifiedTalents.ng is operated by JobsEden Technologies Limited ("JobsEden", "we", "us"), a company operating in Nigeria. You can reach us at [email protected]. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

You upload a CV. Our software extracts the claims on it (education, NYSC service, skills, work history) and, for the checks you select and pay for, queries primary sources directly, such as the NYSC senate list portal. The result is a claim-by-claim report: verified, not found, needs review, unverifiable, or self-reported, with the source and time of each check.

Candidates who verify their own CV can publish a public profile with a badge code. Employers and organisations can verify applicants' CVs, subject to the consent rules in section 5.

This section matters more than any other. Read it before acting on a report.

• A "not found" result means the source we queried did not return a matching record at the moment we asked. It is not a finding of fraud. Records can be missing for innocent reasons: name spellings, transferred records, or timing.
• In particular, NYSC senate lists are uploaded by institutions in batches. A recent graduate may legitimately not appear yet even though their degree is real.
• A "needs review" result means we could not get a reliable answer, usually because a source was unreachable, changed its layout, or presented a captcha. It is a limitation on our side or the source's side, not a failure by the candidate, and it is not charged for.
• A "self-reported" claim is shown as the candidate stated it. We have not checked it against any source.
• We are not an identity or KYC service, not a credit bureau, and we do not make hiring decisions. If you are an employer, a report is one input to your own judgement, not a substitute for it.

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
• Give us accurate account information and keep it current.
• Keep your sign-in credentials and API keys secret. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• One person or organisation per account, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

If you upload a CV that is not your own, you must already have that person's consent, and the software requires you to attest to this before anything runs. Your attestation is recorded with your identity, the time, your IP address, and your browser details, and the report is flagged as employer-initiated.

• Attesting to consent you do not have is a serious breach of these terms. We may suspend or terminate your account and we may inform the person affected.
• The person whose CV you upload can withdraw consent at any time, and once withdrawn no further checks run. We email them a withdrawal link at the address on the CV before anything is charged or run — see section 10 of the Privacy Policy.
• If no email address could be read off the CV, no notice is sent and your report says so explicitly. In that case informing them is your responsibility, and you must still be able to tell them their CV was submitted and pass on any withdrawal you receive.
• You are responsible for your own obligations to the person under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, in addition to ours.

Upload and extraction are free. Checks are priced per check and the prices are published on our pricing page before you pay. Payment is taken through Paystack. You are only charged for checks that genuinely reached their source and returned an answer; anything else is refunded, and the software raises that refund without you asking. In the rare case where the refund request itself fails at Paystack, the amount stays recorded as owed to you and we complete it by hand. The short version: do not upload anyone's CV without their consent, do not scrape the service, do not use reports to harass or unlawfully discriminate, and do not try to bypass rate limits or tamper with verification integrity. We work hard to be structurally honest: a source failure is reported as "needs review", never disguised as a definitive answer. But we do not control the sources we query.

• We do not warrant that any source is complete, current, accurate, or reachable at any given time.
• A report reflects what a source said at a point in time. Records change; a report is not a permanent guarantee.
• The service is provided as is and as available. To the extent Nigerian law allows, we exclude implied warranties.

You keep all rights in the CVs and information you submit. You grant us the licence needed to store, extract, and check that content in order to provide the service, and for no other purpose. CV files are stored privately and are never published; see the Privacy Policy for detail.

You can delete any verification you submitted — your own CV or one you uploaded about someone else — from that verification's page at any time; the Privacy Policy describes exactly what deletion removes and the one case where it waits (a refund still being retried automatically). You may close your whole account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service, or creates legal risk, and where practical we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature survive (liability, governing law, records we must keep) survive termination.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law, including liability for fraud. Subject to that:

• We are not liable for decisions you or anyone else makes on the basis of a report. The report states what sources said; the decision is yours.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit or opportunity.
• Our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give notice on the site or by email before it takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top always tells you when the current version took effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you hold.
